An Intimate Wilderness on Globe's 100

It's official: Globe and Mail released their 100 best books of the year. Among an assortment of awesome and exciting titles, An Intimate Wilderness by Norman Hallendy claimed a spot on this list.

An Intimate Wilderness: Arctic Voices in a Land of Vast Horizons is an unforgettable and beautifully illustrated memoir of one man’s journeys in the eastern Arctic over 50 years, and a revealing look into the world of the Inuit.

Jade Colbert wrote for the Globe and Mail that An Intimate Wilderness challenges the stereotype of the Arctic as "barren" and "empty," showing instead that "the Arctic is vast but full, a vibrant place cultured by thousands of years of human history."

We are thrilled here at Greystone Books that the Globe and Mail selected An Intimate Wilderness to include in their 2016 list.
