Maybe you remember the images circulating on Facebook and social media back in November 2014 of a scruffy mutt following a team of Swedish Adventure Racers through the Ecuadorian rainforest. Named "Arthur" (inspired by King Arthur, due to his calm and regal nature), the pup followed the team for 430 miles after Mikael Lindnord, the captain of the group, shared some meatballs with him.
Their harrowing journey together was captured in this powerful and touching ESPN documentary, which details the lengths Arthur went to in order to find a home.
After becoming attached to Mikael, Arthur was willing to brave gruelling treks, exhaustion and infection, knee-deep mud, and tumultuous river currents to remain at his side. Seeing this, Mikael knew that he had to bring Arthur back to Sweden with him—no matter what.
Greystone Books is thrilled to announce that we will be publishing Arthur and Mikael's story for Canada and the U.S.A in September of 2017. Arthur: The Dog Who Crossed the Jungle to Find a Home is the story of friendship and loyalty against all odds.
