Join our team: summer editorial intern

Greystone Books is looking for a summer editorial intern to assist our editorial department with various activities related to acquiring, editing, and promoting the high-quality nonfiction books we publish.

This is a paid internship. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Reading manuscripts and preparing reader’s reports
  • Assisting editors with soliciting endorsements for books
  • Proofreading and copyediting as needed
  • Assisting with editorial record keeping and organization
  • Editorial related research
  • Writing descriptive copy
  • Writing newsletters

Other projects and duties may be assigned based on an intern’s specific skillset and experience.

Excellent organizational and planning skills, excellent people and communication skills, an excellent understanding of grammar (with particular reverence for CMOS), and a love of reading and writing—especially literary nonfiction—are all things we’re looking for in an intern.

Greystone Books is a leading publisher of non-fiction books about nature and the environment, travel and adventure, sports, social issues, science, and health, as well as books that are exceptional literary expressions of personal passions.
