"Wasted" Nominated for Canadian Screen Award

Bountiful Films' TV documentary Wasted (based off the book by the same name) was nominated for a Canadian Screen Award for Best Documentary Program.

After a successful career in helping clients deal with addiction issues, psychotherapist Mike Pond succumbed to addiction himself. He lost his practice, his home, his family. Abstinence-based programs like AA didn't help, in fact they fail many people struggling with this disease. Which is why Mike Pond and his partner, filmmaker Maureen Palmer, set out to uncover alternative, evidence-based treatment options. The documentary, as well as the book, make the case that it's time to expanded the social and medical tool kit used to treat our number one public health care problem: addiction.

Congratulations to Mike Pond, Maureen Palmer, and all the wonderful people who worked on this important film.

If you live in Canada, you can stream the documentary for free on CBC's website
